Hello, hello!
It’s nearly midweek, here I am again!
Truth is, I am making a conscious effort to clear the decks to give myself a bit of extra time to catch up on things.
Mark is on his way home from work, the fire is on, I keep topping it up with wood so it’s lovely and warm for him, I’ve put all the Christmas lights on across the house and the Christmas tree lights are sparkling, the cinnamon something or other candles are smelling delicious, all ready for his return.
One thing I can’t have, is Mark to come home to a mess. As soon as I know he is en route after work, I am frantic. I just love him to come home, put his slippers on and relax. He works super hard and the last thing I want is for him to be clearing up.
Anyway, throughout the day today Mark has lovingly, from his app on his phone, put Christmas songs on my office Alexa so I have had the joy of “Driving home for Christmas” on loop & “All I want for Christmas is you” on loop. On the first round of loops I did stop for a little break from my emails and have a singalong.
How do you like my choice of wrapping this year? I was wrapping yesterday whilst I had some time in the evening. I love wrapping presents, I love giving presents. It’s probably what I do best, finding the right gift for someone that is. I love to see people’s faces when they open presents.
Feeling festive today. I think it’s nearly time to start making the gingerbread house and toast a few marshmallows for the hot chocolate. Mark doesn’t like gingerbread. Nor did he like my eggnog last year.
My sister in law (Heeeeyyyyy Suz) is my American Inspiration so I try and adopt some of her specialities, although I can never live up to her most scrumdiddlyumptious meatballs.
Well he is home! Yay! He said it smells delicious in here, so the new candles are definite winners and it’s lovely and warm so he’s happy! I’m happy!
It’s -1 outside. It really is starting to feel like winter.
I would like a bit of snow this Christmas. Just a bit, not loads that it’s disruptive, but just a little bit.
I am hopeful that we can watch Home Alone soon and then it really will feel like it’s Christmas.
Dinner awaits, apologies for my short message but I wanted to drop in and say Hi!
Oh and Margaret V DAY first person in the world today to be vaccinated – Cheerio Covid, hello to normality and thank you to everyone in the NHS that has helped keep us safe! Margaret, congrats!
Hope you are all well and safe. See you soon!
With Love Mel x
