We visited the Pearsons Arms, Whitstable for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Prior to our meal at 1pm we had a walk around Whitstable harbour.
I love Whitstable, I would visit here to take a break when I was growing up. Sometimes with friends, sometimes on my own just watching the world go by. It’s a lovely place. There are mountains of oyster shells on the beach, along with traditional beach huts and sea front apartments overlooking the harbour. I really like visiting the lovely quirky shops. It’s a great day out.
The Pearsons Arms invited Mark and I to try out their lunch menu and I promise you it was delicious. The many years I have visited Whitstable I must have walked past here so many times. It’s a hidden gem that’s why. As you walk towards the harbour it’s just slightly tucked away so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled. (I’ll leave full details of where you can find the restuarant below)
Our table was situated upstairs by the window overlooking the harbour. It’s light and filled with all wonders. The interior is very quirky with a mixture of traditional and contemporary. Each table had a vase with gorgeous sunflowers in that really set the scene for our sunny afternoon.
There was definitely a buzz in the air so the atmosphere was great. I would recommend booking as early as possible so you can be sure you get a table then you won’t miss out.
All the staff are really attentive and looked after us throughout our meal. Customer service is super important to me so it was a pleasure to be served by our waitress Lauren as she was so lovely and very polite. Thank you.
Sunday Lunch Menu
Spiced Chickpea Dip with Toasted Flatbread (v) this was so full of flavour with a portion size that is a perfect starter.
Mini Chorizo sausages with a Worcestershire glaze. I promise you we both devoured these in a flash. Amazing flavour! The saltiness from the chorizo and a delicious chargrilled taste from the glaze was a perfect combination.
For our main we ordered the chicken to share which was presented beautifully on a wooden platter board.
A large free range chicken stuffed with Lemon, garlic and thyme. We had beef dripping roast potatoes, pigs in blanket, roasted vegetables (the parsnips were so yummy), cauliflower cheese along with gravy that I wish I could make myself on a Sunday afternoon.
For dessert I had a white chocolate cheesecake. It was so smooth, just mouth watering, the raspberry sorbet made my tastebuds come alive. I could have eaten 4 or 5 more of these had I not been so full up from the previous courses. Again, the food is so well presented and tastes great. It was absolutely delicious.
We had a great afternoon at the restaurant, we had a giggle, we had a glass of wine with our meal which to add was a good tasting wine and enjoyed watching everyone outside embrace the warmer weather. Thank you to everyone for looking after us.
Fancy visiting? Here are the links to the Pearsons Arms so you can book your table and enjoy either a Sunday roast like we did or visit them during the week. Also, If you are looking for a weekend break I would recommend heading to Whitstable and visit the Pearson Arms, take a walk along the harbour and see all the gorgeous pop up shops which includes Artwork, Clothing, home accessories and all sorts of craft items made by the locals.
