What’s new? Well, here I am, I’ve been MIA for some time and it really frustrates me that I don’t spend quality time here!
It’s been a tricky month so far. As it stands, November has left me feeling like I am so unorganised.
The time between Halloween and Christmas just feels so chaotic, for example trying to prepare for Christmas whilst doing the day to day stuff is hard, although I am slowly building up my diary but I am not feeling at all christmassy! Is it too soon to feel Christmassy since it’s the middle of November?
This week I have made a conscious effort to make at least one small purchase a day to go towards Christmas. For example, I bought a pretty glass bauble yesterday during my lunch, today I purchased Christmas cookie cutters, those types of things really.
Perhaps as we head into December I’ll start to feel festive.
So what’s new?
The beginning of November I purchased online a hand casting kit from Edinburgh casting studio. I’ll leave links below. Mark and his youngest son did a great job working together, they created a beautiful timepiece that will be cherished always. The results were awesome. It’s so worth it and it’s not ridiculously expensive either. We laughed and laughed. I loved filming them make an absolute mess in the kitchen. Men!!!
I am also in the process of working on new products to add to my range, importantly, Umbrella’s, Ellas, Ellas! Yes, it’s that time of the year when the weather starts to turn and we will no doubt see on the weather reports to expect 2 months of rainfall in a day. So, I thought I would see what I can do about Umbrella’s. Fingers crossed it’s a goer! I have submitted my designs, I hope it can be done. I’ll keep you posted.
A few articles in The Express online have been published this month so far. I must admit I literally stop what I am doing to get those sent for publishing. I am not informed immediately when they will be published so I tend to just type in the search bar my name ‘Melita’ and it pops up with all the articles I have ever been part of. It’s starting to become a great portfolio. Do you read them? Or are you not a fan of royal family fashion?
I also have been a part of an ongoing project with a local photographer sharing the stories of real ‘Essex girls’ with a series of portraits. This idea came about to challenge the pejorative stereotypical portrayal. Although I am not a real Essex girl, I live here, before I moved to Essex, I assumed it would be like the popular TV show, you know the one I mean? It’s not. Far from it. The women in this project are Entrepreneurs, Actresses, Artists, Mentors, Authors and other amazing talents. Essex is miles away from that life we were/are drawn into.
I’ll share full details when I can.
The general election debates are happening and boy what a chaotic country we appear to be right now. I hardly ever talk about politics because it always ends in disaster however, I just admire Boris and his can do attitude, I have a secret crush on Boris Johnson, I say secret, all the people that know me, know he’s my guilty pleasure, he makes me smile because more often than not he is so far away from the real world I just find that amusing and I love his hair, guilty pleasure though for the wrong reasons I guess, but if someone can make me smile I give in. I definitely trust Boris more than the others from opposition parties. Watch this space!
So that’s it really…It’s been kinda consistent this month not really much to report, hopefully soon we will go and get our Christmas tree and start feeling festive because I need that to motivate me to get ready! I need a tree for motivation! Gah!
Ta ta for now.
With Love Mel x
