Happy New Year!! It’s here, 2021! Finally, the wait is over…..we can all pack our suitcases and head to the airport to go on our ‘olidayz! Oh no, that’s right, we are still in a bloody pandemic.
That aside, I am so glad to see the back of 2020. I don’t even want to give it anymore airtime so, bye bye!
Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
This year, we have plenty to look forward to. Firstly, we have the vaccine, then our holidays that we had to cancel due to Covid, hopefully we can finally take a break at some point this year, the shackles will finally be removed and I am hoping to become extremely thrifty this year too.
No real set in stone New Years resolutions made, although I will be making a conscious effort to take time out to go for a walk during the day, get away from my desk in the week and also not to pay too much attention to the negativity in the world.
Mostly, I am really looking forward to seeing my family and friends without Covid concerns and roaming around London seeing the sights again and feeling free. That’s it, feeling free, not worrying about the virus and doing what I enjoy most.
I bought a book at the very start of the pandemic in the hope that it would pass quickly and It wouldn’t be long before I could roam around London. It’s called Best of England in fact they sell Travel guides for places around the UK, but this one specifically is a London guide. Discovering London’s best kept secrets, top restaurants and bars.
I will use this guide to tick off my London Bucket list when we are finally able to leave our tiers. I have been to a few but I want to start over again.
Speaking of London, on the 15th January I will be attending a virtual tour of the London Underground…the abandoned bits. I wonder how the host of the event will be able to show us the abandoned underground but still, I am looking forward to finding out more. Tickets are on sale via Eventbrite. Here you will find so many virtual tours especially nowadays, if you are into cooking, music, history, quizzes, all sorts, Eventbrite is the place to go.
We have taken the time to go for walks the last few days, new places, literally right on our doorstep. I was pleasantly surprised visiting a local park, it has lovely little gardens, a river running through and a 900 year old mansion. We came across local businesses today preparing for their stores to reopen. (Fingers crossed they can open soon) pricing up their products for those January sales.
New Years Day
This afternoon though has been a time of relaxing and pottering around. No washing, no cleaning and no rushing. Just rest.
I hope you have all had a great start to the year and I look forward to sharing more of my 2021 journey with you.
Happy New Year to you. Stay safe.
With Love Mel x
